RARE Pointer Dial Post Office door bank circa 1896

Description

Rare Eagle Lock company Cast Bronze Pointer Dial Circa 1896 Post Office door mounted in a re-purposed Rustic Walnut box. This early Pointer Dial was made prior to a scrambling mechanism, so you must move the dial to “lock” the door. This door was sourced from an Antique dealer in the southern tier of NY State. The Walnut box has a natural oil and wax finish and features “wrap around grain” where you can follow the wood grain around the outside of the box. There is a coin slot in the top and protective felt pads on the bottom.
