Description
1906 Freeville NY Antique Post Office Door Bank. Solid cast Brass door made by the Keyless Lock Company features the “War Eagle” on the front. This door was originally installed in Freeville NY where it was in service into the 1960’s. Obtained by a local collector, it remained in Freeville until we purchase the entire cabinet of over 100 doors about 3 years ago. Very few of these remain. The box is hand crafted from Rustic Pennsylvania Cherry and cut so the grain wraps around the outside. It has a natural oil and wax finish.
Glass has the original number 165 that is almost 120 years old, and shows signs of wear. We can update the number with new decals, or change the number up to 4 digits of your choice. If you would like the number changed or updated, just include a note at time of checkout.
It has a coin slot on top and felt pads on the bottom. This is a very well-preserved piece of history. Measures 7″w x 4.5″ d x 7.5″T
We also provide a “Lost Combination” service. Just send us an e-mail with the 5 digit number from the bottom of your bank and will send your combination.
