Description

This unique cast Bronze Post Office Door uses the “Points of the Compass” rather than number or letters to unlock the working combination. It was manufactured by the American Post Office Equipment Co, of Chicago in 1902 with the patent date clearly marked on the back of the door and has the original Beveled Octagon Glass and number that is over 120 years old and shows some signs of age. We can replace the number up to four digits if you want, just send us a message at time of purchase. The box is Hand Crafted from White Oak Barnwood that was salvaged from an 1800’s farmstead in West Virginia and is most likely older that the door. The box has a natural Shellac finish. Size 4″ deep, 5″ wide, and 6″ tall. There is coin slot in the top and protective felt pads on the bottom. The combination is provided and we offer a “lost combination” service. Simply e-mail us with the five digit number on the bottom of the bank and we will send your combination.
